PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner preventing the occurrence of problems accompanying the stop position of a dust removing means on a filter surface in the vacuum cleaner carrying out the automatic dust removing of a filter. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes a communication port section 80 having a plurality of communication ports 23 communicating with an electric blower and a dust collecting container 4, the filter 28 arranged in the communicating ports 23 side of the dust collecting container 4, a flipping body (the dust removing means) 28a arranged in the communication ports 23 side surface of the filter 28 and for removing sticking dusts by being vibrated, a dust removing drive means slidably moving on the flipping body 28a, and a control means controlling the dust removing drive means and also controlling the stop position of the flipping body 28a on the filter 28 surface, wherein the slidably moving width of the flipping body 28a is wider than that of communication port section 80, the stop position of the flipping body 28a is in the position not confronting the communication port section 80 when the electric blower is driven, thereby the vacuum cleaner excellent in suction capability can be obtained because the stop position does not hinder suction wind.
