PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch an operation of a capsule type medical device with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A side wall 31 projects from an inner wall 11E of a capsule shell 11 surrounding a part of a specific internal space 32 inside the capsule outer shell 11. The specific internal space 32 is provided with an expandable body 34 formed of a sponge-like substance or the like. A hole 21 for communicating between the specific internal space 32 and the outside is provided. The upper part of the specific internal space 32 is covered with an elastic film 33. A second contact 25 is fixed on the elastic film 33. A first contact 24 is provided above the second contact 25. When liquid such as digestive fluid enters the specific internal space 32 through the hole 21, the expandable body 34 is expanded by absorbing the liquid. The elastic film 33 is expanded upward by the expansion of the expandable body and the second contact 25 is displaced upward along therewith and connected to the first contact 24.
