The energy storage has electrical storage cells (5) e.g. lithium-ion cells, and a cooling device with modular cooler plates (1) and spacers (2), where the storage cells are fixed on one or both sides of the cooler plates. Cooling ducts (3) for a cooling medium are provided in the spacers, and are provided with recesses in the cooler plates and spacers. The storage cells are connected one below the other, and two of the spacers are connected with each other by a connection (4) with the cooler plates. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an energy storage.
