CORRECTION DEVICE TO BE INCORPORATED INTO BRAIN WAVE INTERFACE SYSTEM, ITS METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM

A choice that seems to be picked up by a user is determined using a brain wave interface (IF) and an erroneous judgment about the choice is detected by brain waves. When an erroneous judgment is detected, the choice is corrected by brain wave information which was used for determining the choice. A correction device to be incorporated into the brain wave IF system is provided. The brainwave IF system comprises a biological signal measuring portion, an analyzing portion for analyzing an event-related potential contained in user's brain signals, an estimating portion for estimating a choice picked up by the user based on the analysis results, and an output portion for presenting the choice estimated by the estimating portion to the user. The biological signal measuring portion measures user's brain signals starting on the point of time when the choice was presented to the user. The correction device comprises a judging portion for judging whether the estimated choice was correct or not based on the event-related potential contained in the brain wave signals acquired after the estimation of the choice and a correcting portion which corrects the estimated choice based on the event-related potential before the estimation of the choice when the estimated choice was judged a mistake, and instructs the operation of equipment based on the corrected choice.
