<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which a simple and highly flexible user interface can be easily expanded inexpensively in processing-editing operation for images. <P>SOLUTION: An MFP etc. achieves handwritten input by scanning and copying a handwritten document or the like using a scanner etc. and then compositing the copy with an image such as a photograph. However, in a PD printer etc. that does not have a scanner, an easily usable pointing device such as a mouth, for handwritten input cannot be used. In view of this drawback, a driver for a pointing device such as a mouse is incorporated in the PD printer etc. in advance.
