PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte membrane-catalyst layer assembly with a reinforcing sheet which can prevent damage of an electrolyte membrane without lowering a current collection efficiency, and to provide an electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly with the reinforcing sheet and a solid polymer fuel cell which use the above assembly.

SOLUTION: The electrolyte membrane-catalyst layer assembly includes a solid polymer electrolyte membrane 2, a catalyst layer 3 formed on each of both surfaces of the electrolyte membrane excluding its outer circumferential portion 21, and reinforcing sheets 4 of a shape of a frame having an open portion 41 in its center which is provided on each of both surfaces of an electrolyte membrane-catalyst assembly 10 composed of the electrolyte membrane 2 and the catalyst layers 3. Each of the reinforcing sheets 4 is arranged to cover outer circumferential portions 31 of the catalyst layers 3 and outer circumferential portions 21 of the electrolyte membrane 2 so that the catalyst layers excluding the outer circumferential portions can be exposed out of the open portion 41, and each of the reinforcing sheets 4 is composed of at least a plurality of layers.
