<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating operation component to be used for mainly operating various kinds of electronic equipment, the operation components having a simple structure and operating with a preferable operation feeling, and to provide an input device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: An elastic member 12 is provided on the outer periphery of a center shaft portion 11A of a roller 11 whose center shaft portion 11A is rotatably supported on bearing portions 3A, 4A of upper and lower covers 3, 4. This reduces a scuffing feel due to the friction of the center shaft portion 11A during the rotating operation of the roller 11 and relaxes impact due to attractive/repulsive force between a ring magnet 2 and a fixed magnet 5 to make noises smaller. Thus, the rotating operation component 15 is provided having a simple structure and operating with a preferable operation feeling.
