PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic encoder capable of detecting magnetic force appropriately. SOLUTION: The magnetic encoder 16 includes a multipolar magnet 23 made of rubber where magnetic poles are arranged circumferentially and alternately. The multipolar magnet 23 is formed by performing heating compression molding to unvulcanized magnetic rubber containing a rubber composition, magnetic powder, and a curing agent while applying a magnetic field in a prescribed direction.
