PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow exertion of a prescribed damping function depending on an expansion/contraction position while improving installation performance. SOLUTION: A control valve 5, 6 closes a bypass path by receiving a spring force of a valve-body biasing spring 54, 64 and opens the bypass path by receiving input of thrust surpassing the spring force of the valve-body biasing spring 54, 64. An input means 9 has an input regulating mechanism 10 facing a tip of a tip part, protruding from a valve mount 4, of the control valve 5, 6 while being held by a rod body 3 whose base end is connected to a piston body 2 in a hydraulic shock absorber and whose tip is protruded outside a cylinder body 1. The input regulating mechanism 10 has a push member 101, which faces the tip of the tip part, protruding from the valve mount 4, of the control valve 5, 6, and a biasing means 102 that is arranged at the rear side of the push member 101 so as to allow the push member 101 to retreat while allowing the push member 101 to advance toward the control valve 5, 6.
