PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming TiAl alloy capable of performing a near-net molding without causing a damage or abrasion due to oxidization and without requiring a removal of an oxidized layer or a base metal modified layer and a heat treatment for softening. SOLUTION: In a method for forming TiAl intermetallic compound based alloy, under a state that a plate shaped TiAl intermetallic compound based alloy including Mn(manganese) or V (vanadium) is held in a vacuum or an inert atmosphere at 1,150°C or higher to 1,250°C or lower for a prescribed time, the alloy is hot-pressed by a die member of a hot press device to mold a recessed shape.
