A fastener is disclosed. The fastener includes a housing (23), a cage (16), one or more retaining members (14), and a plunger (18). The housing (12) defines a housing cavity (28). The housing cavity (28) includes a recess (32). The cage (16) is disposed at least partially in the housing cavity (28). The cage (16) includes a cage cavity (34) and one or more passages (38) in the cage (16) aligned with the recess (32). The one or more retaining members (14) are retained within the one or more passages (38). The plunger (18) is movable in the ball cage cavity (34) between a first position to cause the one or more balls (14) to be displaced outwardly relative the one or more passages (38) to seat the one or more retaining members (14) in the recess (32) thereby mechanically locking the housing (12) to the ball cage (16), and a second position thereby allowing the one or more retaining members (14) to be displaced radially inwardly relative the one or more passages (38) to cause the one or more retaining members (14) to be unseated from the recess (32).
