PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink container capable of separating minute impurities from the ink accommodated in the container. SOLUTION: The ink container has a main tank 70 furnished with an ink chamber 73, a valve accommodation chamber 88, and a buffer chamber 90, wherein the valve accommodation chamber 88 and buffer chamber 90 are in communication through a hole 104, and a check valve 93 is installed in the communication part between the buffer chamber 90 and the ink chamber 73 while a check valve 95 is installed in the communication part between the valve accommodation chamber 88 and the ink chamber 73. The check valve 93 is furnished in its valve seat 241 with a minute hole 244 to admit passage of the ink. The ink flowing from outside into the valve accommodation chamber 88, passes through a flow passage 92 and flows into the ink chamber 73 from the check valve 93. When the ink passes through the check valve 93, bubbles in the ink are turned into finer size by the hole 244, and these minute bubbles come into the ink chamber 73 and rise while they capture the impurities existing around, Thereby the impurities are separated from the ink and gathered near the air layer 83.
