PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle approach warning system for warning a candidate of vehicle approach. SOLUTION: In accordance with a state signal showing the state (hereinafter vehicle state) of each section of a vehicle from an existing vehicle system 4, a control/conversion device 2 reads out voice data stored in a voice DB3 to let a candidate (including a person, a bicycle, and a motorbike) know the approach of a vehicle when the vehicle turns right and left, the vehicle moves backward, or the candidate is detected in the neighborhood of the vehicle, and transmits a voice signal to announce the approach of the vehicle from at least one of an FM radio transmitter 4, an infrared transmitter 5, and an electromagnetic transmitter 6.
