PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic file management device capable of preventing an important electronic file from being deleted before a user notices, while deleting an unnecessary electronic file, and to provide its management method and program. SOLUTION: The electronic file management device (4) connected to a client device (6) via a network (2) includes: a storage device (32) for preserving the prescribed electronic files; an attention drawing means (14) for notifying the client device using the storage device of the effect that there is few vacant capacities when there is few vacant capacities in the storage device; and a capacity adjusting means (12) for deleting the selected electronic file when the notified client device selects the electronic file to be deleted.
