PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the degradation of image quality caused by biased abrasion of the surface of a photoreceptor is suppressed. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the photoreceptor whose surface is electrified; an image forming section which forms an electrostatic latent image on the electrified photoreceptor and develops the electrostatic latent image by a developer including toner, abrasives and a fluidizer, to form a developed image on the photoreceptor; a transfer section which transfers the developed image on the photoreceptor to a body to be transferred; a cleaning member which comes into contact with the surface of the photoreceptor after transfer; and a colorless toner supply section which is arranged on the downstream side from the image forming section and on the upstream side from the cleaning section, in the rotational direction of the photoreceptor and supplies colorless toner including the fluidizer to the area other than the area of the surface of the photoreceptor, where the electrostatic latent image is formed.
