PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element having excellent light-emitting brightness and a small decrease in a current efficiency in a high brightness area, and to provide a display device. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element contains a compound represented by formula (4): wherein, X13is an allylene group having at least 13 or more carbon atoms, and R31, R32, R33, R34, R35, or R36is a hydrogen atom or a substituent group.
