PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently grind the inner and outer circumferential surfaces of a workpiece having an inner and outer circumferential surfaces. SOLUTION: In a method for grinding the circumferential surface of a workpiece W wherein the inner circumferential surface Wi and the outer circumferential surface Wo are concentrically arranged on the outer ring or the like of a bearing, the workpiece W is held with a chuck 16 by attracting one end surface We in the axial direction. The head 12 is fixed to a grinding stone axis 20, with an inner circumferential surface grinding wheel 26 corresponding to the inner circumferential surface Wi and an outer circumferential surface grinding wheel 27 corresponding to the outer circumferential surface Wo, each arranged in the axial direction. The head 12 is used to continuously perform a processes of: grinding the inner circumferential surface Wi of the workpiece W with the inner circumferential surface grinding wheel 26; and grinding the outer circumferential surface Wo with the outer circumferential surface grinding wheel 27, while relatively rotating the workpiece W and the grinding wheels 26, 27.
