PROCESSING DIGITAL SAMPLES IN A WIRELESS RECEIVER

A method and corresponding receiver for processing digital samples of a signal received at a receiver via a channel in a wireless communication system. The method comprises monitoring channel conditions and generating a channel indicator comprising at least one channel parameter, by estimating at least one of: degree of mobility of the channel, out-of-window channel energy, temporal duration of the channel response, channel length, channel delay distribution location of the channel zeros in the z-plane, signal-to- disturbance power ratio of the received signal, signal-to-disturbance power ratio of the estimated channel response, degree of non-stationarity of the disturbance at the receiver input. The method further comprises selecting one of a plurality of processing routines for processing the digital samples based on the channel indicator.
