<p>A protrusion 10 of a distal hood component 9 fitted to a distal end 3 of an endoscope 1 is formed from a elastically deformable soft component. When the distal end 10 is pressed against an observation target 13 and the protrusion 10 is deformed due to an external force at that time, a part 10a thereof is entered into the range of the observational field of view 12. Consequently, the surgeon becomes aware that the protrusion 10 is deformed and, therefore, does not press the end of the protrusion 10 against the observation target 13 with a further force, so that the patient can have a reduced uncomfortable feeling. Since the external force applied to the protrusion 10 is relieved by the elastic deformation of the protrusion, damage to the distal hood component can be prevented from occurring. <IMAGE></p> |
