An exhaust system for a dual fuel engine comprising a catalyst assembly comprising a first catalyst (4A,B) comprising a methane oxidising catalyst and a second catalyst (6 A,B) comprising a selective catalytic reduction catalyst, the first catalyst being positioned upstream of the second catalyst. Preferably an injector 16 for injecting a reductant, for example urea, is positioned between the first and second catalysts. A heat sink 16 may further be provided upstream of the second catalyst and downstream of the first. Preferably, the assembly is cylindrical wherein the catalysts are coaxial and the second catalyst surrounds the first catalyst. First 12 and second 14 guides may be provided for guiding exhaust gases through the first and second catalysts respectively. A method of removing nitrogen oxide and methane from exhaust gases of a duel fuel engine by passing them through the assembly and contacting the gases with a reactant between the first and second catalysts is further provided. |
