The wrench 10 includes a handle portion 12 and a head portion 14. The head portion has an outer side surface and an inner surface that defines a fastener receiving aperture 50 that has a plurality of fastener engaging surfaces 46. The wrench is operable in response to a torque applied in a predetermined direction using the handle portion to close the fastener engaging surfaces around a fastener 70 received in the fastener receiving aperture. The outer side surface of the head portion has a plurality of concave portions 56, each of which is disposed generally opposite a fastener engaging surface 46. The fastener receiving aperture may additionally have a side entry 54 through which an elongate member attached to the fastener (such as a brake pipe and nut) can be inserted. The wrench may alternatively have a head portion releasably pivotally connectable to a handle portion. |
