The portable robot control apparatus comprises an inertial device (6) with at least one acceleration sensor and/or at least one rotation sensor, where said inertial device (6) measures its relative movement and the apparatus (1) sends out to a robot controller (12) a signal (11) representing the relative movement, so that the robot controller (12) is enabled to control the robot (10) in such a way that said relative movement is repeated by the robot (10) or by the robot tool (9) end in real-time.
