#CMT# #/CMT# The disc (1) has a mounting body for mounting a rotor shaft or a hub, and two parallel spaced circular wear plates (7) extending radially from the mounting body, where the connection (17) between the wear plates and the mounting body is completely or almost completely closed. The mounting body is formed by a flange (3), where the wear plates are turned towards each other. The wear plates are connected at the mounting body via connection elements e.g. pins, or at openings formed at an external wall of the mounting body. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Brake disc. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The connection between the wear plates and the mounting body is completely or almost completely closed, such that lateral flow is generated instead of a radial airflow as in existing discs, thus reducing the energy required to rotate the disc. The disc is formed such that cooling surfaces of the wear plates are large enough in conjunction with the lateral flow of brake disc so as to cool the brake disc. The cooling surface can be increased by having the wear plates which are turned towards each other. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a sectional perspective view of a brake disc. 1 : Brake disc 3 : Flange 7 : Circular wear plates 17 : Connection between wear plates and mounting body. |
