[Class 18.] A case for watches &c. embodies two lids or shutters 10, Figs. 1 and 5, which are opened when movable ends 2 of the case are pressed in and are closed when these ends are released, by the engagement of studs 11 on the movable ends with slots 13 in tail pieces 10b on the shutters 10, the return movement being effected by springs 3. The watch &c. is enclosed in a rectangular frame 12 mounted in the body. In a modified form the pins may be on the tail-pieces and the slots in the movable end-pieces. In a further form a flexible tongue on the end-piece pushes against the tail-piece to effect the opening. The frame 12 may be held in place by a nib 19, Fig. 17, engaging a recess in the top.
