The transport paths comprise transport path elements arranged in a quadrilateral grid, where adjacent elements have a common node. There are nodes providing three alternative paths. The drums retain the same orientation during transport. The drums can be rotated at the nodes, preferably in steps of 90[deg], so that their orientation corresponds to the transport direction. The system comprises one module with stations for constructing carcasses and another module with stations for constructing tires from the carcasses.
