An amplifier in which both distortion and noise are reduced in the output wave. The amplifier comprises an input terminal (5) for inputting an AC voltage signal; amplifying means having a transistor (Q1) for amplifying the input AC voltage signal; current detecting means (Q2) connected internally of said amplifying means; and a control-current source (Q3) controlled by said current detecting means for driving an input stage of the transistor.
