High-capacity friction device for transmitting torque by sliding

The gearbox has a friction unit designed such that the unit has three stators (44-1-44-3) and four rotors (46-1-46-4) and transmitting torque in a temporary manner during gear change via a gear ratio. The stators are connected in rotation to a hub (40) that is connected in rotation to a primary shaft carrying the unit. The stators are connected in rotation to an idle pinion (24) of the ratio. The unit includes a coupling sleeve (42) in sliding connection with the hub and exerting an axial effort on the large diameter rotor to generate a friction torque between the rotors and the stators.
