The apron is formed of a waterproof material which is soft and absorbent on the outside. A front section 1 with opposite side edges 2, 3 and top and bottom edges 4, 5 may include an optional slit extending between the side edges for use by breast-feeding mothers. A pair of rear sections 9 and 10 are joined to the side edges 2 and 3 with a pair of interposed sleeves 12 and 13. The rear sections are releasably joined by opposable tabs 18 and 19 leaving a gap 20 at the rear. Side slits 15 are formed at the bottom of the smock. The rear sections 9 and 10 are also joined to the top edge 4 on either side of a neck recess 6, which may be filled with a forwardly-extending panel to cover a neck tie. The front section 1 is preferably provided with a flap joined to the bottom edge 5 to cover the wearer's lap when required. |
