A laser measuring instrument 2 is disclosed comprising a laser 4 for emitting light pulses, a detector unit 42 having a number of detector elements 44, an optical means 40 for directing light pulses into a number of sectors of an object scene and for directing light pulses reflected back from the sectors to the detector elements 44, and a control means 48. The laser instrument 2 includes at least one additional laser 4 for emitting light pulses whereby the control means 48 is arranged such that the second laser 4 only emits a light pulse when a first laser 4 has completed transmission of a light pulse. The instrument 2 is particularly suited for imaging distance measurement at a high image repetition frequency. |
