PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning mechanism for easily cleaning a filter of an air conditioner, in particular, an air conditioner having a ceiling installation type indoor unit. SOLUTION: In this cleaning mechanism of the air conditioner comprising a filter disposed on a suction opening of the indoor unit of the air conditioner, a cover member covering the filter and fixed to the suction opening, and a cleaning nozzle disposed between the filter and the cover member, the cleaning nozzle has a suction opening at a filter side and a connection port of a vacuum source at an opposite side, a connecting portion rotatable on the suction opening, is disposed between the suction opening and an insertion opening, and further a driving mechanism is disposed to rotate the cleaning nozzle.
