PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric storage device which can determine abnormalities with high precision by simple control. SOLUTION: The electric storage device comprises a charging circuit 19 which includes a voltage detection circuit and is connected to an electric storage section 23 and a control circuit 41 connected to the charging circuit 19. The control circuit 41 measures an accumulated time t during which the electric storage section 23 has accumulated power, when the electric storage section 23 is charged with a constant current I, measures an actually measured duration dtm during which the voltage Vc of the electric storage section 23 changes by a predetermined voltageΔV from the start of charging, determines an internal resistance value R and a capacitance value C in accordance with the accumulated time t when the voltage Vc of the electric storage section 23 has changed by the predetermined voltageΔV, calculates a calculation duration dtc by dtc=(ΔV-I×R)×(C/I), and determines that an abnormality is occurring in the electric storage device 11 when the absolute value of the difference between the actually measured duration dtm and the calculation duration dtc exceeds a predetermined value or when the actually measured duration dtm becomes a predetermined lower limit or less.
