PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge controller, which can control the charge of a secondary battery safely and optimally, and electronic equipment using it. SOLUTION: This charge controller 1 is so structured as to monitor the charge current I3 of the secondary battery 3 and to control the charge of the secondary battery 3 so that its current value may be a smaller value between the target value preset within the equipment and the target value optimally set from outside the equipment.
