PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for chemical conversion treatment, that prevents a sludge produced when treating a metal pipe such as a steel pipe while immersing it in a chemical conversion treatment tank filled with a chemical conversion treatment liquid, from coarsening and depositing on the surface of the metal pipe, and can enhance a removal efficiency of the sludge, and to provide a method for chemical conversion treatment. SOLUTION: The apparatus for chemical conversion treatment for a metal pipe is an apparatus for chemical-conversion-treating the surface of the metal pipe while immersing it in the chemical conversion treatment tank filled with the chemical conversion treatment liquid, and includes a plurality of discharging nozzles for discharging the chemical conversion treatment liquid into the chemical conversion treatment tank and a suction port which sucks a part of the chemical conversion treatment liquid from the chemical conversion treatment tank to form a convection of the chemical conversion treatment liquid in the chemical conversion treatment tank.
