PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt conveyor device equipped with a transport belt arranged to receive sheets of printing paper ejected from an eject hole in a printer body and transport each received sheet in the direction perpendicular to the sheet ejecting direction, capable of precluding the leading edge of the sheet from running against anything. SOLUTION: A supporting means to support a transport span of the transport belt is composed of a stationary member 320 with its top surface shaped in plane and a bunch of moving members 321 consisting of a plurality of moving members 321a with their top surfaces positioned above the top surface of the stationary member 320 and moving between the supporting condition supporting the transport span and the retreat condition in which the top surfaces are retreated downward from the top surface of the stationary member 320, whereby the moving members 321a are put in the retreat condition when the belt receives the sheet, and when the belt is running, they 321a are put in the supporting condition.
