The segment (1) has horizontally running accommodation bars (11, 11a) for accommodating a medical device, and a base holder (2) premounted on floors (6, 7). The bars are attached to the base holder in a force-fit manner and are mounted in a buckling-resistant manner. The bars are formed in such a manner that the bar permits retrofitting with another medical device and/or removal of the medical device accommodated in the bars. The base holder is placed on the floors in a height adjustable manner. Supply lines are provided for high-power current, communication, gas and/or data transmission. An independent claim is also included for a device carrier system comprising two device carrier segments.
