<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous cerium oxide-alumina based cryogel catalyst which is excellent in durability and possesses a high oxygen storing capacity even under exposure at a high temperature. <P>SOLUTION: In the porous cerium oxide-alumina based cryogel catalyst, a main component is constituted of alumina (Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>) and cerium oxide (CeO<SB>2</SB>) is dispersed. The porous cerium oxide-alumina based cryogel catalyst is prepared by gelling beomite sol containing a cerium ion protected by a chelating agent which is either one of ethylene glycol, catechol, malonic acid, succinic acid, glutaric acid or adipic acid, and by lyophilization of the resultant gelled material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
