PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be concerned with a lead modifying component and a lead modifying apparatus for eliminating or preventing damages to a lead terminal and performing the positional modification of the lead terminal by simple steps with respect to the lead modifying component and the lead modifying apparatus for performing the positional modification of the lead terminal with which an electronic component or the like is provided. SOLUTION: A lead modifying component includes: a taper part having a cross sectional area that is continuously reduced toward a tip portion and a first guide groove that is a groove linearly formed from a part with a wide cross sectional area to the tip portion in the taper part.
