PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry metal-evaporated film capacitor which is compact and does not decrease in electrical dielectric breakdown strength for a long period. SOLUTION: The dry metal-evaporated film capacitor is formed by winding a polyvinylidene fluoride resin film 1 having a metal-evaporated layer 2, forming electrodes 3a and 3b by thermal-spraying metal on an end surface of the wound film, and connecting and fixing external terminals 4a and 4b to the electrodes 3a and 3b, thereby forming a capacitor element, and then leading the external terminals 4a and 4b out and cladding them with a metal laminate film 5 comprising a top surface resin layers 5a, a metal layer 5b, and an internal surface resin layer 5c. The cladding completely hermetically seals the capacitor element, and consequently the compact dry metal-evaporated film capacitor is obtained which includes the polyvinylidene fluoride resin film with large relative permittivity as a dielectric and has superior dielectric breakdown strength.
