PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the reduction of a precharge period when employing a configuration wherein a precharge operation of supplying a precharge signal PSIG of a voltage Vpb to a data line is performed for a countermeasure against vertical crosstalk. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device employing a configuration wherein the precharge operation is completed by supplying the precharge signal PSIG of the voltage Vpd to the data line for the countermeasure against vertical crosstalk before supply of a video signal VSIG to the data line and then returning a potential of the data line to half tone potentials Vpgh and Vpgl near a signal potential of the video signal VSIG, the precharge signal PSIG of the voltage Vpb is supplied to the data line only in a low-side field period when the video signal VSIG whose potential is lower than a common potential VVC is written.
