PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature sensor excellent in vibration resistance and durability, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This temperature sensor 1 includes a tubular metal cover 4 with its end closed, a thermistor element 2 disposed in the metal cover 4 and having a pair of electrode wires 21 connected thereto, and a sheath pin 3 incorporating signal wires 31 severally connected to the pair of electrode wires 21 with the signal wires 31 exposed on its end side. The thermistor element 2 is fixed in the metal cover 4 by means of a filler 5 of Young's modulus of 2 GPa to 10 GPa having alumina as a main component. This temperature sensor 1 can be manufactured by doing an injecting process, an inserting process, and a heating process. In the injecting process, filler slurry is injected into the metal cover 4. In the inserting process, the thermistor element 2 is inserted into the metal cover 4, the thermistor element 2 connected to the sheath pin 3 via the signal wires 31 and the electrode wires 21. In the heating process, the filler slurry is heated/solidified to form the filler 5 of Young's modulus of 2 GPa to 10 GPa. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
