PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood drying method utilizing solar heat and a device for the same by which high quality woody materials with less crack can be manufactured. SOLUTION: The woody materials in a wood drying room are heated and moisture in the woody materials is vaporized by using the solar heat, the wet air including the moisture is circulated through a dehumidifying room 4B next to the wood drying room 4A, the wet air flowing into the dehumidifying room 4B is dehumidified in the dehumidifying room to make dry air with lowered humidity, and the dry air is circulated so as to return the same to the wood drying room 4A through a pit 11 for draining water. The wood drying room 4A for heating the woody materials and vaporizing the moisture in the woody materials by using the solar heat and the dehumidifying room 4B next to the wood drying room 4A are arranged on the base 3 having the pit 11 for draining water, and the wood drying room 4A and the dehumidifying room 4B are connected through an air circulation gap G arranged above a partition insulating material wall 38 partitioning the same.
