<p>The invention is based on the problem of how to design a completely hydraulically operating driving and controlling unit, i.e. without electricity and/or electronics, for a device for splitting firewood - in which a splitting or pushing tool is mounted on a pushrod (2) of a cylinder (1), which, due to approaching of the pushrod (2) in the direction of the longitudinal axis of a stub, hits and cleaves the latter longitudinally during its further movement in the same direction - in order the unit would be able to drive and control this kind of device which should be adapted all the time to loading conditions resulting first of all from differences in toughness or splitting resistance, so that the movement of the pushrod would be as quick as possible in the case of low splitting resistance, while in the case of increased resistance, a substantial increase of the pushing force on the pushrod (2) and a decrease of its speed would be achieved.</p> |
