The present invention relates to a process for preparing a cosmetic composition, characterized in that it comprises: optionally a pretreatment of an organic ion-exchange resin, the absorption of at least one organic colorant onto the optionally pretreated resin in order to form a resinate, the optional grinding of the resulting resinate and the incorporation of the resinate into a cosmetically acceptable polar medium. It also relates to the composition obtained, to the resinate formed and also to the use of at least one organic ion-exchange resin for stabilizing at least one organic colorant in a cosmetically acceptable polar medium.
