<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure point determination system for OPGW used for surely determining whether a failure point of an OPGW core is in a joint box or in which section of the OPGW outside the joint box the failure point is, and furthermore simply structured even in such severe environments as on an upper part of a pylon without using any OTDR method. <P>SOLUTION: The upper joint box 5 for connecting one end part of one OPGW 11 to one end part of the other OPGW 12 includes first and second optical couplers 531 and 541 and a photo-sensor 571, these used for detecting input and output optical signals S1 and S1a being optical signals input into and output from the joint box 5 side, respectively, and a detection communication terminal 57 transmitting detection results thereof to a monitoring center C. Meanwhile, the monitoring center C includes a determination task C1 for determining where the failure point is based on the detection result received from the joint box 5, and the communication states of first and second substations T1 and T2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
