<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus capable of improving fixing performance by increasing the effective width and pressing force of a nip part, and to provide an image forming apparatus attaining high-speed printing by reducing a temperature rise waiting time. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing apparatus comprises: a rotatable pressing unit 100; a belt unit 200 rotationally traveling with turning force transmitted from the pressing unit; a nip forming unit 300 internally contacting the belt unit to form a nip N at a contact part between the pressing unit and the belt unit; a heating unit 400 heating the nip forming unit and the belt unit; and a supporting unit 500 pressing and supporting the nip forming unit and having a space for the belt unit to pass through. The supporting unit includes an internal support member 510 located inside the belt unit, and an external support member 520 located outside the belt unit and connected to the internal support member at both ends to reinforce the strength of the internal support member and to form a heat radiation path. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
