PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique where it is not required to contain any special information into map data and a departure point in a guiding route is determined so that a user's intention is directly reflected. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus calculates and displays an initial guiding route from an initial departure point to a destination (110, 120), and when receiving instructions from a user to change the destination (130), displays an image containing the initial departure point, a current position, and the initial guiding route as a screen for receiving change of the destination (140). When it receives designation of an alternate departure point by the user through utilizing the screen (150), the apparatus specifies an actual alternate departure point, based on the designated point (160), and calculates as a guiding route alternate to the initial guiding route, a guiding route from the specified alternate departure point to the destination (110).
