PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a magnetostriction-type torque sensor with gain variation suppressed. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method for the magnetostriction-type torque sensor includes a process for providing a rotating shaft (steering shaft 12b) with magnetostrictive parts 20d and 20u given magnetic anisotropy, a process for disposing multiple-winding coils 20r, 20r', 20s and 20s' around the magnetostrictive parts for detecting the change in a magnetostrictive characteristic, and a gain adjustment process for adjusting the output gain from the multiple-winding coils so as to be within a setting range of which width is extended in accordance with an absolute value of torque.
