PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a lot of houses were collapsed in earthquakes occurred recently in various regions, with the loss of many precious lives under the collapsed houses, but large expenses requires for houses to be constructed in earthquake resistant reinforcement, causing resultant delay in the earth quake resistant construction. SOLUTION: A rectangular frame, having bracing formed of metal square columns, is formed of one plate, a decorated plate is spread on the front and rear surfaces of the frame, and the remaining portion other than the frame surfaces is covered with a thin plate or the like to manufacture an earthquake resistant reinforced fitting which looks like a sliding screen or door at a glance. Furthermore, a glass is fitted in the groove formed on the inside of the metal square columns, and a metal plate lid with a latch on the top thereof is covered on the rectangular frame with the metal bracing, the metal plate lid being fixed on the frame with screws or by soldering, to manufacture an earthquake resistant reinforced fitting such as a glass window, a sash door or the like. A reinforcing method for an existing sash door is also provided. If a sliding screen or door, glass window and sash door existing now in general households can be replaced with the earthquake resistant reinforced fitting to enhance the earthquake resistance at low cost, thereby guarding and protecting precious lives.
