PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock mechanism for a headrest device capable of securely maintaining a normal state where a headrest frame is engaged with a seat back frame and a lock state at the time of a rear end collision. SOLUTION: The lock mechanism for the headrest device is provided with a base bracket mounted to the upper part of the seat back frame and having a pin stretched inside; a lock bracket rotatably fitted to the pin and having a bending part serving as an operation lever; a stopper bracket which is mounted to the upper part of the headrest frame, normally abuts on the bottom part of the lock bracket to constrain downward rotation of the lock bracket, and at the time of a rear end collision, abuts on the lateral part of the lock bracket rotated when the headrest frame is tilted forwardly by a pressure receiving plate so as to constrain the movement to the normal position by the lock bracket; and a coil spring for energizing the lock bracket to rotate the lock bracket in the direction of the stopper bracket.
