<p>[PROBLEMS] To provide a magnetic encoder, particularly a magnetic encoder using a multiplied frequency, capable of self-correcting its output waveform and improving detection accuracy even if a magnetoresistive effect element is disposed out of alignment with the width center of a magnet (magnetic field producing member) in the width direction. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Eight magnetoresistive effect elements consisting of a first magnetoresistive effect element (A1) to an eighth magnetoresistive effect element (A8) constitute an A-phase bridge circuit. The layout and circuit configuration of the magnetoresistive effect elements according to the invention make it possible to self-correct the output waveform so that not only a symmetrical but also an even periodic output waveform can be obtained, even if the magnetoresistive effect elements are disposed out of alignment with the width center of a magnet in the width direction. Therefore, in a magnetic encoder using a multiplied frequency, it is possible to improve the detection accuracy compared to a conventional magnetic encoder.</p> |
